After another wild week of women’s hoops, there’s a new number one in this week’s poll. South Carolina claims the top spot in week seven after longtime No. 1 Louisville was dropped last night to ACC foe North Carolina State. The Gamecocks are followed by Stanford, Louisville, UCLA, and NC State to round out the top five.

Second in the SEC and 6-0 vs ranked teams this season, Texas A&M comes in at number six this week. After falling to Arkansas, UConn drops to seven; Maryland comes in at eight, Arizona nine, and Baylor rounds out the top 10. Despite pausing games due to COVID, Oregon remains steady at 11, with Big Ten opponents Michigan and Ohio State coming in at 12 and 13 respectively. The SEC sees three additional teams in the top 20 with Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas going 14, 15, and 16. Northwestern climbs to 17, South Florida comes in at 18, Indiana drops to 19 and West Virginia finds its way into the top 20.

After a lopsided defeat to the Huskies, DePaul drops to 21, Gonzaga rises to 22, SEC opponents Mississippi State and Georgia come in at 23 and 24 respectively, and the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State round out the top 25 this week.

Iowa, Oklahoma State, Missouri State, Georgia Tech, Texas, Alabama, and Syracuse all received votes this week.
