WNBA training camp to tip off tomorrow

Eleven of 12 WNBA teams will begin training camp for the 2020 season tomorrow, a league representative confirmed.

Players arrived in Bradenton, Fla. Monday to begin quarantining at IMG Academy, where they will play a 22-game slate, plus playoffs. Athletes have been tested for coronavirus at least once per day.

The Indiana Fever wasn’t scheduled to arrive at the facility until Friday after two players tested positive for the virus over the weekend.

The WNBA made no announcement about the start of camp, but three teams posted the information on their social media accounts Thursday evening.

The season start date and game calendar has not yet been released. The representative said the schedule will be announced when finalized.

There could also be roster movement prior to season tipoff, as Washington Mystics veterans Elena Delle Donne and Tina Charles are awaiting medical clearance to play, and the Fever is expected to name replacement players.
