Fever rally for first road win against Sky, 91-79

Rosemont, Ill. – The Indiana Fever collected their first road win of the season Sunday with a 91-79 decision over the Chicago Sky. Tiffany Mitchell led the way for the visitors with 19 points.

Chicago guard Allie Quigley started the match up red hot from the floor, posting 16 points by halftime as her team led 43-39. But Shenise Johnson sparked a 10-0 Indiana run in the fourth quarter that gave them the momentum to close out the game. The Fever committed just four turnovers, while forcing 18.

It was the Indiana coach Pokey Chatman’s first time back in Chicago after being let go earlier this year. She downplayed the event.

“My mother told me a long time ago that red looks good on me,” Chatman said with a laugh. “I’ve never been in [the visitor’s] locker room before. I’ve been gone since October. Not to downplay it, but it’s so far gone … it’s a nice story line, but I was just hunting that first win on the road. It just happened to be here.”
