Minneapolis, Minn. – The Lynx defeated the Atlanta Dream Saturday, 95-87. The win not only culminated the 2016 regular season, but set a new franchise record for wins in a season, with 28.
Sylvia Fowles led the way for Minnesota, scoring 30 points and eight rebounds. Maya Moore finished with 21 points, while Natasha Howard added 11.
The Dream got out to the early start, opening up a 5-2 lead. However, the Lynx took the lead at the 8:32 mark of the first quarter on a Moore jump shot and never looked back. Minnesota then went on a 12-2 scoring run.
Angel McCoughtry and Tiffany Hayes led the Dream, scoring 18 and 16, respectively. McCoughtry did have to leave the game in the fourth quarter due to injury, and did not return.
