San Antonio, Texas – Day game, night game. Whenever you want to tip Maya Moore will be ready, and she proved that on Tuesday with a 24 point, seven rebound and seven assist stat line en route to an 81-57 Lynx victory.
Even though they possessed a 16-point lead in the second quarter, a San Antonio run trimmed Minnesota’s lead to nine heading into halftime. But the Lynx began the third period on an 18-4 run to take a 23-point lead, which was an advantage that buried the Stars.
Moore’s 24 points not only proved to be a game high, but marked the tenth time this season she has reached the 20-point plateau. Aiding in the effort was Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson, scoring 22 and 10, respectively.
It was an all-around effort for the Lynx, as they were able to score 30 points coming off eighteen San Antonio turnovers.
Whay has a Day
Lindsay Whalen was certainly reaching for the stars on Tuesday. Her 22 points gave her 5,052 for her career, and with that she moved into 13th place for most points scored in a career.
In addition, Tuesday marked the first time she scored twenty or more points in consecutive contests since May 24-26, 2014
Lynx on the Mend
After missing the previous two games due to knee soreness, guard Seimone Augustus did not accompany the team on the trip to San Antonio.
