Two Southern California starters are out indefinitely after being ruled academically ineligible to play last week, a USC spokeswoman confirmed today. Senior guard Brianna Barrett and redshirt junior guard Jordan Adams did not make the road trip with the team to Washington this weekend, where the Trojans dropped both games.

Adams was averaging 12.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, and Barrett was averaging 7.6 points and 5.81 assists so far this season. Both athletes helped USC upset UCLA a week ago, which propelled them into the AP top 25 the next day.

The Trojan roster is now down to eight, which is reminiscent of last season when a handful of player departures also thinned the ranks.

This weekend, USC faces #11 Stanford and California at home.
