East 89, West 87:
The East came back to win in tonight’s McDonald’s All-American game:
Marina Mabrey and Arike Ogunbowale envisioned a better start to their career as teammates than what developed Wednesday at the United Center.
The two Notre Dame recruits, though, proved capable of aiding a comeback.
Mabrey and Ogunbowale helped engineer a first-half turnaround to lift the East team to a 89-87 victory against the West in the girls McDonald’s All-American Game.
Mabrey and West point guard Te’a Omari Cooper were named co-MVPs for the game. Current Notre Dame freshman Brianna Turner was named the MVP for last season’s contest.
Eight of the players are committed to this year’s Final Four teams.
