The Sparks came from behind to squeak by the Storm, 65-64. Nneka Ogwumike lead Los Angeles with 24 points.
Sparks guard Alana Beard said the win is a good sign for the team, which has struggled on the road.
“This was a huge win for us because all season long we kept trying to figure out who we are as a team,” Beard said. “As ugly as this game was for us, I think it showed how special we really are and how special we could be. I was very proud of the way everyone pulled together and locked down defensively and got the win.”
The Silver Stars picked up a much-needed win by upending the Sun, 60-52. It was Connecticut’s second loss in two days.
The Eastern Conference-leading Sky put away the Liberty, 80-69. It was Chicago center Sylvia Fowles’ first game back from injury.
Tomorrow’s game previews:
Arguably, the game of the weekend might be the Lynx at Mercury. Minnesota is trying to get their fourth win of the series.
