Two weeks after guiding the Indiana Fever to their first WNBA Championship last Oct. 21, Finals MVP Tamika Catchings was on a plane to China for a short gig playing with a team there. She is back in the U.S. now until WNBA training camp begins in the spring. I caught up with Catch last week to find out her plans.
Sue Favor: So what are you up to right now?
Tamika Catchings: I’m taking some time off from the game. I didn’t really have a choice. My body was like, “OK, if you don’t stop, we’ll stop for you.”
I’ll be in and out of Indiana, and doing work for Catch the Stars.
Sue Favor: Are you focused on a repeat with the Fever this year?
Tamika Catchings: Of course! We would all like to have another trophy.
Sue Favor: How are you planning to do that?
Tamika Catchings: We’ll keep working. I’m sure there will be a few changes to the team here and there, and we’ll keep working.
