Louisville upset, Duke wins, Tennessee and Stanford roll on BIG game day

Today’s heart-stopper game award goes to #9 Kentucky-#6/7 Louisville. Wildcat freshman Janee Thompson came up big for her team in the final minutes of the physical contest, and Kentucky upset the Cardinals, 48-47. Check the video.

Meighan Simmons not only crossed the 1,000-point mark in #16 Tennessee’s 101-57 annihilation of North Carolina, but she put up a career-high 33 points. Where are those Lady Vol doubters now? ESPN says Tennessee is learning on the fly.

#8 Georgia 60, Georgia Tech 50.

#6 Penn State 101, Fairleigh Dickinson 44.

#12 Oklahoma 68, Marist 55. The Sooners have won six straight.

#14 Purdue 87, Central Michigan 71.

#19 UCLA 86, Loyola Marymount 66.

#20 Kansas 65, Minnesota 53.

#23 Dayton rallied to beat Arizona State, 65-59.

Cincinnati dropped a two-overtime game to Xavier, 69-67.

Boston College squeaked past Rutgers, 58-56.

Princeton downed UMBC, and Tigers Coach Courtney Banghart collected her 100th win.

Temple came back to defeat Syrcause, 74-67.

LSU has picked it up a bit, including today’s 81-73 victory over North Carolina State.


Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis will be back in the lineup for #2 UConn tomorrow, as they face #11 Maryland. Freshman Breanna Stewart will start, and Caroline Doty will come off the bench.
