Eight players added to State Farm Wade Trophy watch list

As if the list wasn’t already long on talent, eight players have been added to the list as potential State Farm Wade Trophy winners: Kelsey Bone of Texas A&M, Gennifer Brandon and Layshia Clarendon of California, Kelly Faris of Connecticut, Tianna Hawkins of Maryland, Chelsea Hopkins of San Diego State, Niveen Rasheed of Princeton and Meighan Simmons of Tennessee.

I can’t disagree with a one, other than to wonder why they weren’t there in the first place.

  1. I'm thinking that Griner will win it, but unless I missed something this year she probably won't do it as a Guard?!? State Farm should probably talk to their list maker person.

On a more serious note it's cool to see Faris on the list. She has no chance to win but has been overlooked throughout her career. If the award was based upon pure basketball IQ, leadership and effort she'd be in the running.
