Some surprises in tonight’s results

#18 South Carolina upset #5 Kentucky, 55-50. The Wildcats’ 17-game winning streak is snapped.

Nebraska upended #25 Michigan State, 59-54.

#8 Penn State held off Minnesota, 64-59. They’ve won eight straight.

#15 Purdue escaped Northwestern, 77-73.

Solid wins:

#4 Duke bounced back from their UConn loss to top Clemson, 60-46.

It was a fast start and finish for #9 Tennessee, who beat Vanderbilt 83-75.

Beat downs:

#10 Maryland 85, #11 North Carolina 59.

#16 Texas A&M 81, Mississippi State 33.

#17 Dayton 80, George Washington 52.

#23 Michigan 61, Indiana 43.

High school:

Tennessee commit and #1 recruit Mercedes Russell and her Springfield High School team went to Massachusetts last week for a tournament. Her play earned praise from opposing coaches. One called her “the best he’s ever seen.”

I’m an official Northern Iowa fan now, in light of the team’s own version of “Gangnam Style.” ‘Scuse me – I’ve gotta go laugh some more.

  1. That Northern Iowa video is hilarious, but those folks better hope someone burns it before their current or future kids get a chance to take a look. Too Funny.
