Seattle Times: Tina Thompson will sign with Storm

The Seattle Times is reporting that “multiple sources” say veteran Tina Thompson will sign with the Storm. Here’s the rationale:

Los Angeles traded reserves Natasha Lacy and LaToya Pringle to Washington in exchange for Nicky Anosike, an All-Star center. The Sparks also have the No. 1 pick in April’s draft and are expected to select Stanford forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike.

Couple Ogwumike and Anosike with returning young stars Candace Parker, Jantel Lavender and Ebony Hoffman, and there appears to be little room or salary-cap space for Thompson on the L.A. roster.

This trade and signing season for the WNBA is proving to be as wild as this year’s NCAA season. The Sparks, the Mystics and the Storm have a lock on power moves. Who will join them?

  1. hey, sue. don't agree with you about the mystakes making power moves. how does getting pringle, lacy and quinn from the sparks, 2nd stringers all constitute making power moves? they lost beard and coleman; if both can play up to anywhere near their old selves, l.a. got a couple steals. 🙂

nope, i wouldn't mention the mystakes in the same breath with the storm, sparks or chicago when it comes to wheelin' and dealin' this off-season.
