  1. Spokane has been dominating Washington big school basketball for the last 15 years or so! Shadle, Central Valley, Lewis and Clark, Mead, Ferris, they've all dominated at one time or another over that period. It's only in the last few years that you've seen the west side back in the mix.

4A championship was Auburn Riverside UPSETTING Mead 🙂

  2. You point to the only 2 times in the last 15 years of 4A that a Seattle team finished first or second. A Spokane team has finished first or second in 9 of the last 15 years. In all other years of those 15, "suburb" teams or Prairie from Vancouver has finished in the one or two spot. That doesn't even consider the full spectrum. I would venture to guess that if you looked at Top 5/Top 7 finishes, the domination I've cited would be even more apparent.

The fact that up until last year one of the very few Nike sponsored teams (Spokane Stars) was based in Spokane, is not by accident. Say what you will about Nike, the fact is…they sponsor winners. You'd be hard pressed to make the argument that Spokane is not "the" basketball town in the state of Washington.

  3. If you would have elaborated like that in your first post, your argument would have carried more water. So you say Spokane is the basketball town in the state; why do you think that is?

And for the record, I've not said anything against Nike.

  4. More questions:

Are you talking about 3A or 4A?

Does your Spokane world domination theory include both classifications? Why or why not?

Did the restructuring of the brackets a few years ago effect anything?

Do you have a link that shows all of the past state 3A and 4A champions?
